The novel “Life without Me”, written by the Moroccan novelist and poet Aisha Al-Basri and published by both the Egyptian Lebanese Library and the Arab House Library in Cairo, won the “Best Arab Novel” at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2018, bringing the third prize to Al-Basri during the last three years.

The story takes place between Morocco, Vietnam and China, to which Al-Basri has moved to write the novel in its natural setting. The novel stands as a valuable addition to the author who had already won the Kateb Yacine 2016 Prize in Algeria for her novel “Greta Carbo” and the Simon Landray Award 2017 for Women’s Poetry in France.
