The privately-owned Egyptian daily, Youm7, recently revealed that the Egyptian Publishers Association is conducting a detailed study to establish a company, which will promote publications by its members. The move aims to offer the publishing industry strong marketing tools, enabling them to reach a wider audience of readers.
Saeed Abdou, Chairman of the association, told Youm7 that the book marketing company would help publishers open new horizons for bookselling in collaboration with a large number of publishers from all Arab countries, in addition to organising a series of book fairs to ensure the promotion of books innovatively.
The Chairman of the Egyptian Publishers Association noted that books will also be promoted and marketed via social media platforms and smart applications, in line with the latest technological developments, giving readers access to books from around the world on their smart devices. The move is expected to bring about a major transformation in the way Egyptian and Arab publishing houses function.
