On the sidelines of its participation at the 27th edition of Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which concluded on May 2, Egypt-based Dar El Shorouk signed a cooperation agreement on translation rights with New World Press of the China International Publishing Group.

Under the agreement, the Egyptian and Chinese publishing houses will set up a joint team to select a number of Arabic titles to be translated into Chinese and Chinese titles to be translated into Arabic. The selected texts will cover culture, art, science and history, as well as the children’s book genre.

Over the past few years, Dar El Shorouk has signed a number of cooperation agreements and partnerships with major publishers in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Japan and other countries. The agreements align with the Egyptian publisher’s vision for openness between global civilisations and cultures.
