The Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism has reported that the country’s expenditure on cultural assets increased by 11 percent last year compared to 2016 figures, and went up to 85.6 billion Yuan ($13.3 billion), while per capita expenditure on culture-related services was nearly 61.6 Yuan, indicating a 10.5 percent hike.

According to the report’s findings, China is witnessing a quantum leap in its cultural industry with 3,166 public libraries across the country, making available to public more than 970 million books in different languages, in addition to about one billion digital books. China’s TV productions reached 2.93 million in 2017.
