The Alexandria International Book Fair (AIBF), organised by the General Egyptian Book Authority in collaboration with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, will feature 230 Arab and international publishers. Books will be showcased at two main pavilions, the Arab and international pavilion at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Egyptian publishers’ pavilion at the Kota, Al Shatibi in Alexandria.

This year, the AIBF, which runs from March 23 – April 4, will celebrate Mostafa Al Abbadi, a prominent philosopher and historian who passed away in February at the age of 88. His book ‘Egypt, from Alexander the Great to the Arab Conquest’ has been chosen as the subject of the fair’s activities and competitions, in recognition of its documentation on the Greco-Roman rule of Egypt.

Italy will be the fair’s guest of honour, in line with the long historic and cultural relations that link Alexandria and Rome. Hosting Italy will be an opportunity to showcase Italian cultural products and highlight their mutual benefits to the two nations.
