The 24th edition of the Francophone Book Fair (FBF) will take place from November 4-12 at Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Centre in the Lebanese capital Beirut.
Organised annually by the French Institute in Lebanon and the Syndicate of Book Importers, the nine-day literary event is held in collaboration with librarians, the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, the Academic Agency of la Francophonie Office in the Middle East and the embassies of France, Belgium, Canada and Switzerland in Lebanon.
FBF will host dozens of publishing houses dedicated to publishing French books, in addition to more than 180 writers and authors who will participate in nearly 200 events. The programme of activities on offer at the fair includes seminars, presentations, roundtables and panel discussions on an array of topics, from politics and economics to history and culture, as well as the pressing issues on the international scene.
FBF was conceived as a Francophone cultural extravaganza that sets a model of cultural diversity in Lebanon while giving the native speakers of French in the Arab region the opportunity to communicate with each other and acquire the latest French-language books. The event allows them to meet their favourite authors, receive signed copies of their books and participate in numerous cultural activities.
